If I could ever afford this, I would lose so much weight. O.O

That's pretty awesome but I wonder a couple things:
1. I am 6'5" and I have a pretty long stride. Will I fall off the edges of the platform like I often do on a treadmill?
2. There is no relation between your running speed and the speed in the game right? Usain Bolt would be on a level playing field. It would be cool if they could make your real speed affect the character's running speed.
3. Can this just be used for running? I would love to use something like this to simulate running on some of the famous racing courses. I get bored of running 25-30 miles a week in my same old route.

1) You'd probably need to learn to adjust your stride.
2) No moreso than the run speeds mapped to the thumbstick on a controller. So, yes, level playing field- until cardio becomes a factor, haha.
3) The stride length limitation might be an issue with this.

seems a bit slow to react, no?
Also, I don't know that this guy is that good at what I think is BF. Makes it hard to tell how good it works.
I didn't watch the whole thing but what about prone?

It's still in the prototype phase. I haven't played BF, so I can't judge on his abilities or the reactiveness of the setup, but I imagine they'll make it faster for the final model.
And I think prone is done with a normal button press. Could also be mapped to full forward lean with feet up.

pretty sweet, i'd love to try it.
Have you ever seen the BF3 rig they made a few years ago? If not:

Yep, it's BF4, and no, he doesn't appear to be very skilled. Either that, or he is a decent player who isn't yet used to using the rig.
As far as its reaction speed, it looks like the two cameras are out-of-sync. In the first sequence, you see him pull the controller's trigger after the in-game gun has been fired.

Yeah. I've seen it. You could get the same rig effect today and take up no more space than a bathroom stall, haha.
Surround Sound headphones + Virtuix Omni + Oculus Rift HD (newest version) + Razer Hydra with a rifle mount + 3rd Space gaming vest = Immersion without taking up the entire back yard.
